The location – La Roche-en-Ardenne
Nestled in the heart of the Ardennes region in Belgium, La Roche-en-Ardenne is a picturesque town that seems to have been plucked from the pages of a fairytale. Our stay – Hutsput
We stayed at one of the cabins of Hutsput. It is a luxurious cabin, with a private sauna, well equipped kitchen and good beds. They have multiple cabins at your disposal. So perfect if you want to stay at La Roche with multiple families. We stayed at the Eagle, but as far as we could see, all cabins have the same amenities.

Things to do
La Roche-en-Ardenne is a haven for nature enthusiasts, surrounded by dense forests and rolling hills. Head out for a day of outdoor exploration in the heart of the Ardennes. Hiking trails like the Ninglinspo Trail and the Forest of Saint-Hubert offer breathtaking views of the region’s natural beauty.
We hiked for two days. Started from our cabin, hikes are easily accessible. Hiking trails are clearly stated with different signs. And along the route, there’re signs that tell you how far you have to go to the top for example.
For a more adrenaline-fueled experience, try kayaking along the meandering Ourthe River. We even saw some daredevil kayakers with temperatures below zero. But also mountain biking is very popular in the region.
Where to eat
Following our hosts recommendations we went to Le Quai Son, located in the centre of La Roche-en-Ardenne. Good atmosphere and great food.
More tips for La Roche-en-Ardenne
Take a look at the weather report. In summer it can be beautifully sunny. As we visited in winter time, it was cold. Dress warm for hikes and other outside activities.
Driving back, the snow started to set in and laid a beautiful white blanket on the trees.
